This policy explains how MEMORIA, the instant photo printing service at events, handles personal data of event guests, and how you can withdraw consent you gave for bonus prints.
MEMORIA is operated by TANGENT EVENTS e.U., Kenyongasse 23-25/805, 1070 Wien, Austria, office@tangent-events.com (see the imprint). TANGENT EVENTS e.U. is responsible for the photo printing service itself.
If you sign up with your email for bonus prints, MEMORIA stores the address on behalf of the event organizer named on the sign-up form, as its processor. The form names who receives the address: the organizer, a sponsor, or both. Each recipient whose box you tick receives it and is responsible for its own use of it.
We process the photos you upload, the print template you choose and the print job, so that your photo can be printed at the event. The event organizer can see the photos taken at their event. Legal basis: performance of the service you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
When you join an event we set a session cookie and compute a device identifier in your browser (FingerprintJS). The identifier is kept in your browser's storage, sent to MEMORIA and saved with your guest record for the event. We use it to keep your session and to enforce the print limits the organizer set, so that one person cannot collect the prints meant for many guests.
The event organizer sees the identifier in its guest list. MEMORIA also uses it to recognize you at that organizer's later events, so the name and notes the organizer keeps for a guest carry over.
Some events offer extra prints if you sign up with your email address. This is optional: if you don't sign up, you simply don't get the bonus prints, and everything else works the same.
If you sign up, we store your email address, which boxes you ticked, the exact wording you agreed to, the language and the time. We check that the address looks valid and that its domain can receive email; we do not send you an email. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), separately for the organizer and, if you tick its box, the sponsor.
Each recipient whose box you ticked may then send you emails about the topics shown on the form. Recipients get your address for marketing emails only; MEMORIA does not show it next to your photos or in the guest list.
MEMORIA deletes sign-up email addresses 30 to 90 days after the event (the organizer chooses the period, and the form shows it), and in any case no later than 365 days after you signed up.
Backups are kept for at most 30 days, so a deleted address disappears from them within 30 days. To keep withdrawals effective after a restore, we keep a short log of withdrawals and deletions for 30 days that contains only a keyed hash of the address, never the address itself.
If an organizer or sponsor already downloaded your address before it was deleted, MEMORIA keeps the address in an erasure record for up to 30 days, so that their next download of withdrawals tells them to remove it as well. The erasure record is then deleted.
Organizers and sponsors who downloaded your address keep it under their own privacy policies; withdrawal then works through them (see below).
Depending on how you use MEMORIA, the following receive personal data:
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you can withdraw any consent at any time without affecting processing before the withdrawal. Write to office@tangent-events.com; for email sign-ups you can also contact the organizer named on the form.
You can complain to a supervisory authority, in Austria the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Wien, dsb@dsb.gv.at.
Enter the email address you signed up with. We withdraw every consent we still hold for it, at all events. Your bonus prints are not affected.
After the retention period MEMORIA no longer holds your address. To stop emails from an organizer or sponsor who already received it, use the unsubscribe link in their emails or contact them directly.
